    Material y vehículos de la VJTF desembarcan en Vigo

    El jefe de la Fuerza Logística Operativa (FLO), general Sánchez, presenció, junto al jefe de la Brigada de Infantería Ligera (BRILAT) “Galicia” VII, general Cebrián, y otros cuadros de mando, el 20 de junio en el puerto de Vigo (Pontevedra), el desembarque del material y los vehículos de la Fuerza Conjunta de Muy Alta Disponibilidad (VJTF) que ha participado en los tres ejercicios (“Brilliant Jump”, “Valiant Falcon” y “Anakonda”) que, en el marco de la OTAN, han tenido lugar en Polonia entre los meses de mayo y junio.

    Around 450 soldiers and 50 vehicles from the ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, Reconnaissance) Battalion attached to NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force took part in exercise Black Dragon 16 from 9 to 15 May at the training field and shooting range Álvarez de Sotomayor in Viator (Almería) and the airfield Los Oteros in Pajares de los Oteros (León).

    The ISTAR Battalion of NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force conducts exercise Black Dragon 16

    Over the last week around 450 Spanish soldiers and nearly 50 vehicles from the ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance) Battalion attached to NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) have been conducting exercise Black Dragon 16 in Almería and León. The bulk of this ISTAR Battalion comes from the Intelligence Gathering Land Systems Group of the 1st Intelligence Regiment, based in Valencia.

    The 7th Brigade ‘Galicia’ (BRILAT) goes to Poland

    BRILAT will take part in two multinational exercises to put to the test the capabilities acquired during the preparation phase since the beginning of the year. Over the last few months the Brigade has been increasing its ability to be projected and deployed wherever NATO might require it, which is the main purpose of VJTF. The latter was created as a result of the implementation of a new NATO concept agreed on at the Wales Summit.

    The Land Component of the new NATO Response Force finalises details in Bétera

    The top commanders of the units assigned to the Land Component Command of the new 2016 NATO Response Force (three multinational brigades and the headquarters in charge) met in Bétera (Valencia) to finalise details of the exercise which will take place at the end of the month in Poland and will serve for its final certification.

    Alrededor de 100 mandos militares del Cuartel General Conjunto de Brunssum (Holanda), del Cuartel General Noreste de Scszecin (Polonia) y de otros Cuarteles Generales OTAN están reunidos esta semana en Bétera para ultimar el despliegue de la Fuerza Conjunta de Muy Alta Disponibilidad (VJTF en inglés) dentro del marco del ejercicio de adiestramiento “Brilliant Jump 16” (BRJP 16) que se realizarán en Zagan (Polonia) a finales de este mes de mayo.

    Capabilities integration. Company-level exercise of the VJTF, Spearhead and San Quintín battalions to prepare for Deployex in Poland.

    The ‘San Quintín Battalion’, of the 3rd Regiment ‘Príncipe’, alongside a company from its sister regiment ‘Isabel la Católica’, JTACs from Field Artillery Command, seven aircraft from the Army Helicopter Forces and an OPFOR from the ‘Toledo’ Battalion have carried out a company-level exercise at the training field and shooting range of Renedo Cabezón.
